From: Danny Phillips <outdoor_dan@hotmail.com> I'm actually trying to get a message to Jeff Dennis, author of the article about The Nemours Plantation Wheelchair Hunt that SCI put on. Mr. Dennis, Butch Hollis was a long time hunting buddy of my father from Blythewood, SC. He and I have several good stories of our own both with and without his legs. I really appreciate the article; though I wonder about the miss on the first shot... Butch must have been slipping a bit. In case you didn't know, he died recently, from what I understand to be complications with his diabetes. He is the only one who can truthfully express how much that hunt must have meant to him. I used to guide trophy deer hunts on 24,000 acres in S. Texas and I just wish I could have been there to guide him, or at least congratulate him on taking the does. Thank you for the opportunity you gave him and for the article to remember it. Sincerely, Danny Phillips
Here is the story that Danny is referring to in his email:2nd SCI Low Country Chapter Wheelchair Hunt Rolls With Success
Mark, Subject: SCI Lowcountry chapter's annual wheelchair hunt. Quite simply, this is the finest praise I have ever received as a writer. Lewis was a gentleman hunter who drove himself to the hunt from Columbia, S.C. Incredibly he had missed the previous year's hunt because he was in a coma. He always stayed in contact with me through e-mail - and I am sad to learn of his passing. In my opinion, as long as there are disabled folks who demonstrate a desire to hunt like Lewis did - it shows everyone why our right to hunt is so special!! Jeff Dennis

However, we should be grateful that we had the opportunity to meet him and help him pursue his passion for hunting and the outdoors. It's good to know that a little time and effort on our part can make a big difference in the lives of others. Godspeed, Lewis, we'll see you one day in the "Happy Hunting Grounds!" Mark
